John Holdom -Volunteer of the Month

Thank you John for your many years of service and dedication to the New Plymouth Bridge Club! 

John has recently resigned as Bar Manager, a job he has carried out  for well over a decade.  John's work in the bar has been much more than serving drinks - he has helped foster a sense of community and provide a  social hub where members can interact and build a sense of belonging in a relaxed setting .

Behind the scenes, John has also been responsible for purchasing  and transporting stock to the Club requiring a lot of heavy lifting that he considers his biggest challenge.

John joined the Bridge Club in 1990.  His wife Judy was already a member but John decided he wouldn't join until he had achieved his Real Estate License .

As well as working in the bar John has sponsored the very successful Picnic Pairs event held annually in honour of his wife Judy .

John told me the best thing about the Bridge Club is the wonderful people he has met over the years and the social life it has provided.

Thank you John for all the hard work, dedication and positive energy you have brought and continue to bring to the Club .
